LEAD CONSULTING

Lead consulting is a bridging role between the Client and their team, and the technical design team.

It is important to note that the lead consultant should complement the Client’s Project Management team, not compete, with the lead consultant focused on the technical coordination and delivery of the project. 

As lead (design/ engineering) consultant we manage the design effort of the assembled design team and is the main point of contact for communication between the client/ project manager and the assembled design team.

Our team consist of experienced design team leaders, with a technical / engineering background, and have a ‘hands-on’ role in the day-to-day managing projects.

We work closely with our client’s to clearly understand their business and operational needs then analyse the project brief and outcomes to ensure the project is aligned.

We approach the management of each project individually to provide our clients with the optimum solutions, fully coordinated, within budget and programme.

We understand the local market, and have extensive experience working with the best local consultants and understand the requirements of designing to suit local conditions.

The Lead Consulting role includes for:

Project Inception

  • Assisting client/ project manager in preparing detailed design scopes/ project briefs

  • Identify and engage the optimum design team for each project based on experience, local knowledge, availability and capability

  • Identify specialist consultant input

  • Identify and coordinate pre-design investigations or data collation

 

Design

  • Provide the client/ project manager with a single point of contact and project responsibility for the delivery of the technical design

  • Select, assemble, coordinate and manage the project design team.

  • Ensure timely delivery of the project design and documentation.

  • Collaboratively engage with the client / project management, stakeholders and approval authorities

  • Develop a project implementation plan, and project quality plan(s)

  • Coordinate the multi-disciplinary design and delivery of the project

  • Prepare and update design delivery programme/ schedule

  • Regularly monitor, review and report on design progress

  • Facilitate milestone design reviews and client sign off

  • Facilitate regular design coordination workshops

  • Facilitate project risk and opportunity / value engineering workshops

  • Mange the contractual and financial requirements of the consultant engagement

  • Develop operating and capital cost estimates to required % accuracy.

  • Provide BIM management and coordination services

  • Identify and coordinate approval / certification submissions

  • Identifying design issues that affect the project / design scope of works and coordinating or holding a workshop to determine the appropriate design response to ensure the initial design scope is achieved.

 

Tender

  • Provide procurement option analysis and advice

  • Undertake tender preparation, issue to market and management of process

  • Coordinate technical review of tender submissions and report

  • Assist with contract negotiations

 

Construction

  • Contract administration and/or site superintendency

  • Co-ordinating site inspections, inspection tests, mock ups and samples

  • Coordinate design certification sign off

  • Handover and sign off
